The B.C. Teachers’ Federation plans to shift gears in ongoing contract talks with employers.
The union says it will unveil a “pared-down package of proposals” later today in an effort to spark talks with the B.C. Public School Employers’ Association.
“The move represents a significant shift in order to spark some momentum in negotiations, after almost 70 sessions at the bargaining table without any movement from the employer or government,” the union said in a press release this morning.
BCTF president Susan Lambert has called a press conference for 12:30 p.m. at which she will share highlights of the new proposals with reporters.
The teachers have been without a contract since June, 2010.
